Love being able to gift this poster to a friend in New York, who had recently moved away from the South Bay. She absolutely loved it!
A beautifully written, inspiring, and emotional book. A must read!

No matter who you are or where you are at in life, this book will make you feel seen. Never in my wildest dreams could I imagine that discussing sex, desire, and pleasure could be a comfortable conversation. Cindy does just that in her book “Permission for Pleasure.” She makes communication feel easy and natural as she guides you through a journey to better understand yourself. With prompts to ponder, exercises to practice, and conversation starters throughout, this book is a gift to us all. Everyone can benefit from a friend like Cindy to tell you the answer to all the times you have asked 'Is this normal?'
What an awesome book :) what a great idea, love seeing our old turf . . . and the newer generations. Beautiful cover. The book is wonderful, so many of those images are the beaches I surfed and grew up at . . . I was a true local at Torrance and Rat beach from late 68 to 73! A true Grom. So those images towards the peninsula hit home, but so do all of the images with the Hermosa backdrop and looking towards the stacks at El Porto with Manhattan hovering a bit before that.
This book was beautifully written and emotional for me. I cried a few times reading about these women’s powerful stories of love and service. Highly recommend it!
The book can quick and the purchase was seamless. Loving the whole package!
Having followed Cindy for years, I thought I knew what to expect from "Permission for Pleasure." I was wrong! This book is a revelation, even for those familiar with her work. Cindy tackles the pervasive issue of shame, particularly around sexuality and body image, with compassion and clarity. She guides readers on a journey toward self-acceptance and embracing pleasure in all its forms.
One of the most powerful messages for me was Cindy's assertion that "Shame is a lousy compass..." This resonated deeply as I navigate raising three young children. "Permission for Pleasure" has equipped me to approach conversations about bodies and sexuality with openness and honesty, fostering a healthy and shame-free environment for them.
This book is more than just insightful; it's practical. Cindy provides actionable steps to help readers identify and challenge their own internalized shame. Whether you're seeking to reclaim your own sexuality or raise children who are confident and comfortable in their bodies, "Permission for Pleasure" is an essential guide. I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone ready to embark on a journey of self-discovery and liberation."
I like to be challenged; meaning, I want to be offended if it means righting my understanding of what genuine love, humility and selflessness looks like. In a culture where comfort, ease and “self love” are gods, this book gently presents another way. A way that, if you’re being honest, intuitively points to something greater and more meaningful than what culture has to offer. Wendy shares the lives of these four women with honesty and poise; never with arrogant authority or exaggerative tactics. She presents their stories in a way that, for me, created a fifth entity: this book. And promise of something more sacred than comfort.
I looked all over for a journal that didn't have lines and was able to facilitate drawing. This worked perfect for writing, drawing , pens, watercolors, pencils. The paper is special and is great for outdoor use! Travel sized.
Express yourself. Great gift idea.
Beautiful! The content as well as the art and design - I feel so welcomed into the education and prompts. Can’t wait to share with friends!
